Ventura Shutter-Ventilating Skylights - Application

When daylight and ventilation is required, Type B and Type BE skylights are suited to domestic, industrial and commercial use. The chart blow depicts ventilation areas.

Ventura Shutter-Ventilating Skylights - Manufacture

The extruded aluminium louvred frame is suitable for mounting onto a prepared builder's curb (or, where not available, onto the Type E curb).

Ventura Shutter-Ventilating Skylights - Ventilation

Rigid PVC hit and miss shutter ventilators are situated directly behind the louvred facade, activated by an effective toggle arrangement to provide controlled ventilation. If applicable, external baffle plates can be added to protect against high winds. A Type C or CS Ventura unit is suggested in instances where ventilators are not being used and a draught-tight seal is required. Fly mesh is also another option, fitted within the factory.

Ventura Shutter-Ventilating Skylights - Controls

Hit and miss shutters are operated separately by remote control gearing, card or pole. They are commonly fitted to the four sides of the skylight. A simple toggle arrangement controls the skylight. (NB: Remember to ensure this works competently by checking the width of the curb in relation to the toggle arrangement).

Ventura Permanent Ventilating Skylights - Application

When permanent ventilation and extra daylight is required, Type CV and Type CVE are suitable skylights. These skylights are also ideal for instances where control mechanisms might become susceptible to sabotage / vandalism. Type CV and Type CVE are mounted onto roofs over public areas, for example, public toilets.

Ventura Permanent Ventilating Skylights - Manufacture

In instances where permanent ventilation is required, spacer clips are used to raise the frame clear of the base curb, providing 13mm in space between the curb and the frame (Please see chart for information on ventilation). A high degree of cover against water / rain access is provided by the extended skirt profile, as this forms part of the extended frame.

Ventura Opening Skylights

- Type C - Skylight that opens, mounted onto a builder’s curb.
- Type CS - Skylight that opens, with secondary base frame for an uneven builder’s curb.
- Type CE - Skylight that opens, mounted onto a Type E Curb.

Ventura Opening Skylights - Application

Hinged opening skylights are designed for every commercial, domestic and industrial purpose.

These skylights are effective for environments needing controllable and immediate ventilation. Appropriate for use in hot industry spaces, laundry rooms, bathrooms and offices. Skylights provided for office and domestic purposes can come with a draught seal in the closed position to enhance suitability.

Ventura Opening Skylights - Manufacture

Rectangular formed skylights have a unit that is hinged on the longest side. They are supplied with operating gear to enable a variable opening of anything up to 300mm, providing stability in all weather conditions and greater protection against water entry.

An extruded aluminium hinged frame is supplied with all units. This is mounted onto a builder’s curb (Type C). A secondary base (Type CS) is supplied where the curb is uneven. The frame can be mounted directly to a Type E curb (Type CE) in cases where no base is available.

Ventura Opening Skylights - Controls

The skylights have up to a 300mm operating height, opened using a telescopic screw-jack gear. The screw-jack can be operated manually, by a mechanical arm, or electrically, if preferred. Security from intruder entry is improved by the remote control or cord operated gearing, which is supplied for the operating system. NB: The curb width must be no less than 64 and no more than 102mm in thickness. This is due to the opening gear and the way it is attached to the skylight.
